A screenshot is a picture of what's on your screen. Every device can take one with a couple of buttons. Pick yours below.
- Press Windows logo key + Shift + S.
- Drag a box around what you want. It's copied, ready to paste with Ctrl + V.
- Want the whole screen saved as a file? Press Windows logo key + PrtScn. It goes to the Screenshots folder inside Pictures.
- Whole screen: press Shift + Command + 3.
- Part of the screen: press Shift + Command + 4, then drag a box.
- Screenshots save to your desktop. Press Shift + Command + 5 for more options, like a timer.
- With Face ID: press the side button and volume up at the same time, then let go quickly.
- With a Home button: press the side (or top) button and the Home button together.
- Find it in Photos under Collections → Media Types → Screenshots.
- Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
- If that doesn't work, press and hold Power for a few seconds, then tap Screenshot.
- Find it in Photos under Collections → On this device → Screenshots (or your Gallery app).
If that didn't work: Buttons differ on some Android phones. Google says to check your phone maker's support site. Still stuck? tell us what you’re stuck on.
