All phone batteries wear out over time and hold less charge. A few settings help each charge last, and your iPhone can show how worn the battery is.
- Turn on Low Power Mode: Settings → Battery (on iPhone 15 and later, tap Power Mode first). Or tap the battery icon in Control Center.
- Check health: Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Maximum Capacity compares your battery to when it was new.
- If it says the battery is significantly degraded, Apple says a replacement can restore full performance and capacity.
- Avoid leaving your phone in hot places, like direct sun.
- Turn on Battery Saver: Settings → Battery → Battery Saver.
- Lower screen brightness or turn on automatic brightness, and let the screen turn off sooner.
- Keep your phone cool, especially when it's fully charged. Heat drains and damages batteries.
- Still draining fast? Restart the phone and check for Android updates.
Menus vary by phone maker. Battery health screens also vary, so check your maker's support site.
